Eleven members of the Cross River State House of Assembly have met with officials of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) amid disagreements over the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket arrangements ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The lawmakers, led by the House Majority Leader, Rt. Hon. Francis Asuquo, visited the national office of the movement and held a strategic meeting with its National Director of Strategic Deployment and Implementation, Hon. Innocent Egede.
The legislators reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but reportedly expressed reservations about extending the same political backing to other APC candidates in Cross River State, including Governor Bassey Otu.
Their position is linked to concerns over their exclusion from the party’s ticket arrangements, with some seeking second-term and others third-term bids.

Egede, who is campaigning for the re-election of both Tinubu and Otu, appealed to the lawmakers to reconsider their position and work collectively for APC candidates across the state.
He stressed the importance of party unity, strategic coordination and grassroots mobilization, arguing that internal divisions could affect the party’s performance during the elections.
Egede also reiterated RTIFN’s target of mobilizing 600,000 votes for President Tinubu in Cross River State, saying this would require a coordinated political structure across the state’s constituencies.
Following the meeting, Egede accompanied the lawmakers to a further engagement with RTIFN Director-General, Hon. Bala Ahmed, who also appealed for reconciliation and greater alignment with the movement’s electoral objectives.
Ahmed subsequently pledged to integrate the lawmakers into the operational structure of the movement, subject to the approval of Barr. Seyi Tinubu, identified as its chief founder of RTIFN.

The engagement also aimed at addressing the lawmakers’ grievances and strengthening coordination among APC stakeholders ahead of the elections.
Lawmakers in attendance include Rt. Hon. Dr. Davies Etta (Deputy, Leader, Abi State Constituency), Hon. Egbe Abeng Egbe (Obubra II State Constituency), Hon. Ovat Dickson Agbor (Obubra I State Constituency), Hon. Ashakia Puis Ashaks (Obanliku State Constituency), Hon. Victor Nsa (Calabar South II State Constituency), Hon. Bassey Effiong Bassey (Akpabuyo State Constituency), Hon. Eyo Bassey (Bakassi State Constituency), Hon. Okon Nyong Ewona (Akamkpa I State Constituency), Hon. Mercy Akpama (Yakurr II State Constituency) and Hon. Kingsley Ntui (Etung State Constituency).
