One of the three Senators from Akwa Ibom state, Senator Ita Enang has disclosed that the then authority of the University of Calabar had had him rusticated for his roles in the then Students Union Government of the school.
Senator Enang who made this known at the commissioning of a Law Library facilitated by him and named after him during the 28th convocation ceremony of the University of Calabar on Saturday said that even after he was recalled, he was banned from participating in the school politics throughout his stay in the University.
He revealed that as a Law student, he was elected deputy Secretary and also served as the Scribe of the Students parliament, thanking God that after leaving school he has served his people as elected Councilor, Member, Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, elected into the House of Representatives where he served for 12 years between 1999 to 2011, and today he is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Sen. Enang said that the building was being dedicated to the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Law UNICAL, late Professor Orji Unwuzurike, while charging the University authority to use the building only for the purpose it was meant.
