Governor Ben Ayade and the Minister of Niger Delta, Pastor Usani Usani have been urged to look beyond the party rivalry and work together for the overall interest of Cross River State.
A Cross River businessman, Mr. Jessi Ejemot, made the appeal recently in an exclusive interview with CrossRiverWatch where he described the emergence of the duo as “a lifetime opportunity for Cross River to put itself back on the globe if there is cogent romance between the two”.
Mr. Ejemot who spoke to our reporter recently after been awarded as an Ambassador of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Biase Presbytery for his philanthropic activities, while urging Cross Riverians to shun social violence, be hard working and remain focused in all endeavors, said he will stop at nothing in helping when the need arise.
According to him, “In terms of working relationship with the Governor, he as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I believe will concentrate and do his work, if he has anything to contribute to the State he has to come and support the State Governor.
“It is not all about APC or PDP, until election comes again before everybody goes back to his or her family to work. Now it’s time for the State’s interest which supersedes political party.
“Usani, being a senior citizen in the State, having been a Commissioner during the military government and a Pastor, he will do his work in reaching out to everybody, I suppose.”
He further lauded Governor Ayade for the order to commence repair work on roads in Calabar saying the intervention will ameliorate the challenges faced by road users in the state capital.
According to him, “if the super highway and other signature projects are actualized, Cross River will bounce back to life economically”.
