Daniel Joseph, has emerged the President of the Students Union Government SUG of the University of Calabar in an election that was conducted on Friday in the school campus.

Late results signed by Dr. Gabriel Ogaga Chairman Calabar University Electoral Committee (CUECO) and issued to the press presents Daniel Joseph as the President elect with 1206 votes, while Okoi Eugene came second with 1085 votes followed by Ubi Omen with 495 votes and Etta Enyi with 481 votes.

For the office of Vice President, Nkpoikana-Abasi Anefiok polled 1833 votes defeating Regina Joseph who got 1276 votes. Using Eugene polled a total of 1079 votes defeating Ushie Boniface (851), Godwin Christian (437) and Uranta Waribo (620) to clinch the position of Secretary General.

Also, Bamidele Precious defeated Victor Daniel to win the Deputy Secretary, with the latter polling a total of 665 and the former 2125 votes. In the office of the Financial Secretary, Ezenwa Peace scored 1511 to beat Endurance Daniel who got 1412.

In the contest for the office of the Director of Welfare, Emmanuel Peter scored 1532 votes to defeat Ekpenyong Dominic (769) and Bassey Ofem (670).

While in the contest for the office of the Director of Socials, Iheanacho Victor won with a total vote of 1231, followed by Use Prince who got 879 votes and Ere Gabriel with 872.

David Sunday clinched the Director of Sports, while Michael Jacob won the Director of Information, both having stood unopposed.

The election was conducted using the e-voting system introduced by the school authority about two years ago.
