The Director General of the Cross River State Border Commission, Honorable Etim Ayomobi has died aged 59 following a brief illness.
CrossRiverWatch gathered from close family sources that Ayomobi died on Sunday with funeral plans yet to be known to the public.
CrossRiverWatch also gathered that the late Ayomobi who attended the peace meeting between the Nko and Mkpani communities called at the instance of the State Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji alongside his father, the Obol Lopon of Nko, Obol Effiom Ayomobi was taken to Enugu to be treated and plans were being made to fly him out of the country when he gave up the ghost.
A member of several professional organisations with a professional surveyors seal, Ayomobi was a member representing Yakurr 1 in the 4th assembly and was appointed Commissioner for Lands and Survey by Governor Donald Duke. Before then he was the Commissioner 2 in the Ministry of Environment.
In a short message on Facebook, Ifere Paul who described the late Etim as “A political friend and a maternal relation” condoled with his friends, brothers and sisters in the Obol Lopon of Nko household.
