A young lady simply identified as, Miss Vivian, popularly known in Obudu as (China), died in huge flames this afternoon after a mob lighted her over her alleged role in the stealing of a motorcycle .

China has also been accused of complicity in the murder of one Mr. Peter Akikieye, a commercial motor cyclist from Obudu, who was murdered in an attempt to forcibly collect his bike on the 23rd of December 2018, along Bishiri Road Obudu.

An eye witness who spoke to CrossRiverWatch said, “I came out of my house this morning and saw some boys beating up China and asking her of her boyfriend. I identified some of the boys to be cult boys belonging to the KKs. They told the girl to call her friend. She took her phone, tried to reach her friend but it was not successful. So they told her that if her friend does not come out, they will burn her and just like play, they did it.”

“They dragged her and kept beating her from her house till they got to the cyclists park and a big crowd of more than 500 persons gathered and watched her being burnt.” Another witness told CrossRiverWatch.

Several residents in Obudu also told CrossRiverWatch that China is widely suspected of working with kidnappers and robbers who have been robbing and killing some commercial cyclists in the town.

This allegation was not independently confirmed by CrossRiverWatch. The Police were yet to respond to our request for comments at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, several persons who witnessed the incident told our reporter that they saw security agents among the crowd while the mob was beating the victim but they did nothing to save her.
