Edet Okon Asim, the Special Adviser on Biodiversity to Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross River state has died.
Family sources told CrossRiverWatch that he slumped in his car on Tuesday night in Calabar.
Mr. Asim was okayed for prosecution by the Cross River state government following allegations of rape.
But, he was reappointed in January this year as an aide by Governor Ben Ayade.
His victim, a 15 year old teenager is said to have suffered a ruptured womb after aborting a fourth pregnancy in three years.
