CrossRiverWatch, the foremost indigenous investigative medium in Cross River State has boosted the morale of its newsroom. It’s a publication of CRWatch Resources.
The boost came after it received Industrial Training (IT) students from the University of Calabar and other volunteers.
The Managing Editor of the medium, Comr. Archibong Jeremiah while opening the training encouraged participants to keenly assimilate what would be taught.
He reiterated that CrossRiverWatch is a community newspaper that reports only Cross River State and diaspora issues affecting Cross Riverians.
Archibong reiterated the importance of training and restraining as the base of a successful career.
The trainees were trained on the tenets of journalism.
Introduction to journalism was taken by Jonathan Ugbal, Civic Space Editor. His presentation focused on the historical background viz a viz the constitution.
On what news is, types and how to write news, Godwin Otang gave a 20 minute presentation.
Patrick Obia took participants through variants of journalism. He journeyed through investigative, movement, solution and development journalism.
The training was very interactive.
