Political party, the African Action Congress (AAC) has elected new executives in Cross River State.
The election, which was held under the supervision of the Congress Planning Committee (CPC) chaired by Engr. Segun Damilare and monitored by the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, saw emergence of new executives that will pilot the affairs of the party in the state.
The exercise, which took place in the early hours of Saturday, recorded full representation from all the 18 local government areas across the state. Out of 18 accredited delegates, 14 were present and participated in the voting process.
Benedict Atu emerged as the new State Chairman of the AAC. Other elected officers include Jonathan Ugbal (Secretary), David Agbe (Deputy Chairman, North), Victor Otu (Deputy Chairman, Central), Etie Itu Bako (State Legal Adviser), Patricia Amadu (Treasurer), and Oto-Obong Clement (Youth Leader).

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Benedict Atu, expressed deep gratitude to the delegates for their confidence in his leadership. He pledged to work diligently to advance the vision and ideals of the Party while fostering unity and accountability among members.
The CPC Chairman, Engr. Segun Damilare, in his remarks, commended delegates for their discipline and orderly conduct throughout the congress.
A major highlight of the congress was the election of Patricia Amadu as Treasurer, which the CPC described as a significant step toward promoting women’s inclusion in leadership. The congress concluded with a renewed sense of unity and purpose as members reaffirm.
