The Chairman of Abi Local Government Council Mrs Edith Amadi has inaugurated the executive arm of the council with a charge on members to live above board.
Performing the inauguration at the Council Hall, council Headquarters Itigidi on Friday (today), the Chairman called on the newly sworn in executives to take their responsibilities seriously while not succumbing to pressure to do the wrong thing as the success or failure of the administration would depend on their actions and conduct in office.
Mrs Amadi stressed that their appointment is ‘a call to serve rather than call to selves’, urging them to vigorously pursue the realisation of the mandate of the administration which is geared towards transforming not only the Local Government Area but also the lives of the people.
She said:” I urge you therefore to understand that the commitment of my administration is to exemplify hard work, transparency, prudence, and accountability. These will not be compromised in any form.
The Council Boss reminded the Executive members that their appointments were based on merit with confidence that they would deliver good services to the people in their respective capacities.
