As part of activities to mark the 2014 Valentine Day celebration, members of Cross River State Political Network visited and donated gift items including food and beddings to the Destiny Child Center Orphanage Home in Calabar.
According to the Director General of the group, Mr. Mike Abuo, “The visit wasn’t just about the gifts we offered them nor was it just about the birthday cake we cut with them while marking one of our member’s birthday but it was the love shared, the hope we offered and the advice we gave that was worth it, every moment of it”.
The Director General, also reminded the orphans of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was an orphan and rose to become Vice President in Nigeria and a successful business man as well as Steve Jobs the inventor and co-founder of the Multi-billion dollar corporation known as Apple.
“I reminded them that success is not dependent on background but on individual will driven by a believe in God and in working hard as well as purposeful progress in one’s academic pursuits.
