The member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency of Cross River State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Asuquo, a.k.a Dansuki has been given an award of excellence by the Executive Council of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Student Union Government, SUG.
Chief Daniel Asuquo who is the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Interior commended the students union for deeming it fit to honor him and dedicated the award to his constituents.
He revealed that “I have been avoiding receiving many awards, over 30 not openly but just by avoidance because many have no tangible basis of giving the award”.
Hon. Dansuki advised the Union leaders to lead aright “but in the process don’t forget to lead yourself” noting that “leadership is by example”. He further disclosed that CRUTECH students are well represented amongst those on the scholarship program that his foundation has for his constituents.
Earlier, the SUG President of CRUTECH, Comrade Omini Iwara represented by his deputy, Comrade Ebanyi John of Obubra Campus in an address said that “Considering the giant strides of one of our illustrious sons of this noble state for his laudable achievements in office, barely one year in office, he facilitated one of the biggest medical mission in his constituency by partnering with an international NGO, Pro-Health, and Adim Professionals in Diaspora.
“He organized a three days intensive medical treatment which resulted to free treatment for his constituents because he believes in the popular aphorism ‘Health is Wealth’; we have chosen to honor him with an award of excellence”.
