The national dialogue expected to be inaugurated by President Jonathan on Monday 17th of March 2014 has received knocks from the opposition All Progressive Congress APC in Cross River State.
State Interim Chairman of the party’s working committee and Minority Leader of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Alex Irek described the conference and its composition as a jamboree tailored to waist tax payers money.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with CrossRiverWatch on the national conference, the party’s interim chairman said the timing of the conference was faulty and wonder where was the President in the last two years if truly the intention of the conference was not politically motivated.
He said the conference will end up as a charade because the political environment is already tensed up.
While speaking on the composition, Hon. Alex said those who are attending the conference were either directly nominated by the Presidency or through their agents in the states.
He said the issue of Bakassi will not get any headway because those who sold out Bakassi for personal and political interest are the same people sent by the State to speak for the lost oil rich territory.
“Quote me, you will come back to tell me that the national conference does not have any headway other than waste of taxpayers monies.” he concluded.
