The Area Commander of Ikom police Area Command ACP D. D. Kromoa has assured the Chairman of Abi Local Government Council of his command’s unflinching cooperation to ensure peace and order in the Local Government Area.

ACP Kromoa made the remark recently when he paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of Abi Local Government Area in her office at Itigidi, the Abi Council headquarters.

The Ikom Police Area Commander who hinted that he was on a routine command tour of the Local Government Areas under his jurisdiction used the medium to warn trouble makers in Abi Local Government to desist from such acts or face the full weight of the law.

He reiterated his command’s resolve to maintain law and order between the agitated communities of Ediba and Usumutong while calling on both communities to remain calm as government was working towards bringing an end to the contention between them.

The police boss commended the Abi Chairman Hon Mrs Edith Amadi for her quick intervention in the crisis, reassuring that his command would give her the necessary support to enhance peace and security in the Local Government Area.

Responding, the Abi Council chairman Hon Mrs Edith Amadi thanked the Area Commander for the gesture which she said was an indication that the command was living up to its responsibility of maintaining peace, law and order in the Local Government Areas under it.

Hon Amadi urged the police not to relent in their efforts at protecting the lives and properties of the citizens of Abi, stressing that development can only thrive in an atmosphere devoid of chaos and criminality.
