The People of Obubra in the Central Senatorial district may have concluded where their senatorial bulk vote will go if what a respected voice from the area said is anything to go by.
A former Permanent Secretary, Governor’s Office, Dr Mathew Achigbe, while speaking with newsmen in his Yala Okum country home in Obubra local government area said the voting arrangement in the local government is as good as concluded.
Achigbe who is a member of the governing board of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, said the people of Obubra will “float and sink with the Senate Leader “, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba over what he described as ” Unmatched leadership Qualities” of the federal lawmaker.
He said Senator Ndoma Egba who was given a carnival-like reception in Yala is one political leader who has shown concern for Yala, Obubra area since he became senator.
“We found Ndoma Egba as a good political complement to the development of Obubra communities and the evidences are there to show.
“Ndoma Egba is a single political leader In Cross River State that felt concerned about Yala Obubra Since 1999.
“When he knew that the people of different villages in Obubra are far away in the remote interior areas, but need development, he attracted federal projects to us which none before him could do.
“The people of Obubra will float and sink with Senator Ndoma Egba because he has continued to demonstrate good leadership and attract federal presence to our area.
“Our people can beat their chest for Ndoma Egba, unlike in many years of going to the polls to produced leaders who were neither profiting nor care about Obubra after voting them to power.
“It is absolutely illogical to have a performing leader and base argument on change for the sake of change, not in Obubra!
“We have had senators in the past, we have had political leaders but none has affected the people like Senator Ndoma Egba.
“He is not a pocket politician that argue for pocket political supporters but for the welfare and provision of common good and not giving hand packs for Christmas for people but continue to attract facilities and amenities that will benefit the generality of the people.” he said.
