Calabar Youths Rush To New SSS Training Center For Daily Jobs

The new Directorate Of State Security (DSS) Training Center under construction along Tinapa Road, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State has become the new job haven where youths rush to seek for for menial jobs for their daily survival.

The training center which occupies a large expanse of land running to several hectares is located within the Esine-Ufot-Adiabo.

Findings by CrossRiverWatch revealed that the facility will serve as a DSS intelligence training center for the South South and South Eastern parts of Nigeria when completed.

The location was a flat land within the heart of thick oil palm and rubber plantations and it is about 20 minutes drive from Tinapa Junction in Adiabo.

Further checks revealed that Calabar was chosen for the training center on merit due to its serenity and peaceful environment.

Youths from Calabar and its environ have taken opportunity of the ongoing construction work to engage themselves in menial jobs.

When CrossRiverWatch visited the site, over thirty youths who came to look for daily jobs there were seen with their building materials such as shovels, spades, pans, diggers etc., all hoping that they will get something to do. The youths who braved the distance of the site to the city center said they were ready for the job.

None of the officials, majority of who were DSS operatives could be approached for comments because the CrossRiverWatch reporter also posed as a job seeker while making findings.
