The football betting fever seem to be catching young people in Calabar as fast as it has in Lagos and eleswhere in the county with one lucky Cross Riverian, Mr. Godwin Okorn winning for himself the sum of two hundred and nine thousand naira (N209, 000) for staking two hundred naira only (N 200) in a BET9JA shop, in Calabar, Cross River State recently.
The obviously happy Okorn while speaking to CrossRiverWatch said he is going to “Save the money in the bank now and later think of how to invest it’’.
On how lucky he thinks he is, Okorn said “I knew something like this will come my way due to the amount of hard work and reasoning I have put in it. Most people think betting is all about luck, but it also involves calculation and brain cracking’’.
He advised those still waiting and hoping for their ‘big pay’ not to relent, as their lucky day will surely come.
On his part, Mr. Michael Eja, the Director of the Bet9ja shop located at no. 1 Itu Okon Lane, Ikot Ansa, Calabar Municipality said, ‘’BET9JA is new in town but we are here to stay, as we offer better quality services, a maximum payout of 8,000,000 naira, we pay quickly without delay, we pay a %120 bonus on winnings and even more”.
