A former Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Dr. Abu Undiandeye has called on Senator Benedict Ayade (PDP, Cross River North) to use his position to ensure that the entire Ogoja road is rehabilitated by the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA.
While commending the Senator for initiating the repair work on the road which has become almost impassable, the former LG boss who is now a private medical practitioner said several contractors have abandoned previous repair work on the road after collection of contract sums.
He said: “Congratulations to Senator Ben Ayade for initiating the rehabilitation of Ogoja Road in Obudu town. However, this will not be enough; the whole road up to Abuochiche is in need of repairs.
“Several FERMA contracts have only increased the size of pot holes as contractors abandon the job soon after collecting money. Let Prof. (Ayade) use his position to ensure full rehabilitation of the road by FERMA.”
