Honorable Bassey Eko Ewa member representing Abi/Yakurr federal constituency in the House of Representatives has thrown his weight behind the ambition of his colleague, Hon. John Owan Enoh to contest the Cross River Central Senatorial seat.
Honorable Bassey Ewa formally declared his support while speaking at the declaration ceremony in Ikom where he said “There is no automatic ticket, when the people speak God and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP listens. I assure you that the whole House of Representatives is in support of Owan Eno’s ambition”.
Reacting to the absence of their third colleague, Honorable Sunny Etta, who represents Boki/Ikom federal constituency, he said: “One of us is absent and if he can’t make it, he will remain there”.
In like manner, members of central senatorial district chairmen forum led by the Yakurr Local Government Area chairman, Reverend Anthony Ebri adopted Owan for Senate 2015.
The Yakurr chairman said, “We confirm that Owan has taken us to great heights, on behalf of the 6 chairmen and our friend from Calabar Municipality (Mr. Etim Donatus Henry) we endorse only him and in him we believe, we trust he will deliver”.
On their part members of the Cross River State House of Assembly, CRSHA from the central senatorial district of the state and councilors from the district also formally adopted Hon. John, Owan Eno for Senate 2015.
The Assembly members that were present included, Honorable Jacob Otu Enya, Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Majority Leader, Honorable Abeng Moses, Deputy Whip, Honorable Simon Nkoro, Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture, Honorable Clement Okong Okiza, Honorable Ernest Osam Eki, Honorable John Gaul Lebo and Honorable Eteng Williams.
Speaking on behalf of the Assembly Members, Honorable Jacob Otu Enya said Owan Eno is the man who represents the legislative business of experience, capacity, and efficiency which according to him is what the central district needs now.
He foreshadowed that “it will amount to legislative rascality if we don’t embrace Owan Eno as an agent of change, he has done the people proud.”
The Councilors forum was not left out as Honorable Ayuk Abang Ayuk who is the state PDP councilor’s forum chairman on behalf of his colleagues made it known too that the majority of members in their forum have endorsed Owan for the Senate come 2015.
