The Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, SAN has said that his relationship with Governor Liyel is beyond politics and will outlive politics adding that “those who peddle the falsehood are the people who have political relationship with the governor and when the governor is no longer in power, they will be the first to abandon him.”

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CrossRiverWatch on his relationship with Governor Liyel Imoke and the perceived issues between him and the governor, the Senate Leader said: “I have never had issues with the governor, it was all propaganda from the desperate people ‎because governor Imoke and I were seeing, discussing and even discussing on how to move the state forward.

“But they kept doing the propaganda because the only way to get political mileage is if governor Imoke and I have issues. Unfortunately for them it’s critically important that there should not be issues between the governor and I.

“And I have said it several times that my relationship with Imoke is not political. The people who peddle the falsehood are the people who have political relationship with the governor, so tomorrow when the governor is not in power they will be the first to abandon him.

“In my own case my relationship with Liyel is not political and there has never been issues ‎to the best of my knowledge. It’s their propaganda that has started gaining issues in their imagination.”

On whether the Governor has been informed about his re-election plans, Ndoma Egba said: “I have told him that I will be available to run and he said it makes sense to consolidate on what I have done.”

Senator Egba said those who are out to take his job are the ones peddling rumors and “sowing propaganda at every corner of their bedroom.”

“They even said I have not done anything and that Victor Ndoma Egba is stingy, they made their generosity look like giving five thousand, ten thousand Naira to go and drink beer that is their own definition of generosity‎ and not giving scholarships to unkown students of my constituency numbering over 600.”
