Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Cross River State, Ntufam John Okon has described Ndoma-Egba’s petition to the national leadership of the party calling for the dissolution of the state executive as mere grandstanding.
According to the state PDP chairman, the leadership of the party in the state will not sit by while a few moneybags subvert the will of party members as expressed in the ward congress.
He said the disciplinary actions taken against some members of the party were taken by the full executive committee of the party.
He said, “After the ward congresses, an element of criminality was introduced into the exercise when the results of the exercise were switched to favor some moneybags against the will of majority of our party members.
“We found out that some people had compromised the system, and as such needed to act swiftly to instill discipline. The question is who are those that perpetrated this fraud and then rushed to court to obtain an injunction to prevent the party from looking into the matter?
“Everybody in Cross River witnessed the congresses and know what the outcome was. We are merely resisting attempts by a few people to subvert the will of our party members.”
He said the Senate Leader can write as many petitions as he wants, but he won’t fool the National Leadership of the party who already know what transpired during the ward congresses.
