Contentious Delegates List Leads To Postponement Of Obudu/Obanlikwu/Bekwara PDP Primaries

Information reaching CrossRiverWatch at exactly 10.00pm, Saturday indicates that the National Assembly primaries could not take place in the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency.

This is because the list of delegates could not be reconciled between the camp of Mr. Goddy Jedy Agba and that of the governor’s sponsored aspirant, Senator Ben Ayade.

CrossRiverWatch further gathered that the voting materials for the primaries arrived very late at the Obudu Local Government Council Hall, venue of the aborted primaries.

Our correspondent on the ground reported that signs indicating that primaries for the Federal Constituency was not going to hold emerged when the Senator Ayade led group came out with a list of delegates different from the approved list and the Jedy Agba camp held their grounds by refusing to honor the list.

As a result of the log jam that arose from the contentious delegates list, the voting materials were handed over to the custody of the Area Commander in Ogoja, pending when the PDP national office will come up with the actual and genuine list for the conduct of primaries in the three Local Government Areas constituting the Federal Constituency.

Liyel and sen Ayade with impositions and adulteration of delegate list. We’re tired of this they political gimmicks of always cajoling the electorates with fake list of delegates.

The only sort of politics that this Ayade man is ever involved in is politics of deception, confusion and falsehood.

Approved delegates list dey you you dey go bring your own come. What do you expect to happen? Of course, fight go burst between supporters of both camps and innocent young men go suffer or die!!

When will this charade end? It should be obvious to those bent on foisting a gubernatorial candidate on the people of the Cross River State that the populace is not going to play dead to this swindle.

How many episodes of these machinations must we endure before the democratic process is allowed to take place? We deserve a fair process and insist on getting one. It is time for these intrigues to end.
