Over the weekend (Friday) in Calabar South, Calabar Cross River State, a suspected armed robber was again set ablaze.

The suspected robber according to residents at Abuo street by Foster where he was burnt, was chased by the local vigilante group from Edgerly by Ballentine and finally caught at Abuo by Foster street where he was set ablaze after severe beating.

A resident who spoke on anonymity said, “He and his four men gang attempted robbing a house at Edgerly by Ballentine between 8:50pm and 9:15pm and was unfortunate that the local vigilante group there pounced on them but after a hot chase, only him was caught as others escaped”.

As at the time of filling this report it was not clear if the burnt suspected robber is part of the new gang by street urchins known as Colombo Boys terrorizing Calabar.
