Cross River governor Benedict Ayade led family and friends of the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ntufam John Okon to congratulate him on the occasion of his 63rd birthday.
Ayade in a thanksgiving service at Lutheran church in honour of John Okon held in Calabar today said he was a product of Lutheran having attended St. Stephen Primary School, Obudu which was founded by the Lutherans, and extolled the virtues of the PDP chairman.
According to the governor, “We know him as a man of company, a man of capacity but above all, a man that has kept faith at a time when there was so much heat in our party, when money was been pumped up and down, opportunities and offers were made, a corrupted soul would have jumped at it but he kept firm, kept his faith, he kept faith in our party, kept faith in all of us and today I stand to celebrate him as governor.
“But, if he had compromised, though there is no ecclesiastical barometer that can measure man’s morality but you can measure a man’s morality from his offspring, from his character, from his conduct, from his pedigree.” he said drawing applause from the congregation and concluded with the promise of a bus to the church.
