Against the backdrop of recent dissolution of some Federal Boards and Agencies by President Muhammadu Buhari, the governing All Progressives Congress, APC has warned the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr. Dan Abia to desist from continuously occupying the said office in keeping with the dissolution directives.
National Vice Chairman, South South of APC, Comrade Hilliard Eta who gave the warning in a statement in Calabar said “the warning came on the heels of evidential report that Mr. Dan Abia has ignored the lawful directives of the President to quit office as a member of the NDDC board along with his colleagues.”
Eta maintained that Mr. Abia has been reportedly remarking that the recent dissolution of the commission’s board does not in any way affect his position as MD of the NDDC.
The statement quoted Eta as urging Mr. Abia to read ”expansively, relevant statutes that establish the Commission to understand that his days at the NDDC had since lapsed with the dissolution of the agency by the President.”
The APC Chieftain warned Abia to refrain from further illegally occupying the said office and making expenditures at the Commission or risk severe sanctions.
