The Cross River State House of Assembly is set to form a democracy club which will be unveiled next Friday, according to the Speaker of the House, Hon. John Gaul Lebo.

The Speaker who is currently attending the 46th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Nairobi Kenya, in an update on his timeline titled: “CROSS RIVER STATE DEMOCRACY CLUB TO BE FORMED AND UNVEILED NEXT FRIDAY”, said, “As a delegate to the 46th Commonwealth Parliamentary conference in Nairobi Kenya, I have learnt a few lessons.
“It was quite a fascinating experience to see Youth Clubs and Parliamentary Unions even in smaller democratic countries. I wonder why we have not invested in the scheme, it is time to act now.
“We will present a proposal to our colleagues to set up a DEMOCRACY CLUB alongside, the Youth Parliament. There are so many opportunities out there for them, scholarship, conferencing, seminars and employment.
“He suggested that the next Commonwealth Parliamentary conference should have a youth delegate from Cross River State and concluded by saying “Hopefully by next Friday, the club and parliament should be unveiled. Time is running out.”
