Multiple ghastly accidents occurred along Calabar-Itu Federal High Way, during the early hours of Friday September 25, involving a trailer and 18-seater bus and another Audi car.
CrossRiverWatch correspondent at the scene of the accident reports that five corpses were already recovered from the carnage at the time of filling this story.
He said that efforts were still being made by public spirited individuals to cut through the wreckage of the 18-seater bus to recover more bodies and those who were still alive but trapped and were calling for help.
Our reporter also disclosed that out of the four occupants of the bus who were confirmed dead at the scene, two were female while the other two were male, and that the accident happened at Esit Ikot Eyong community along Calabar-Itu federal high way.
CrossRiverWatch equally gathered that the trailer which did not carry any goods hit the 18-seater bus from behind and pushed the bus into a deep gully.
At the same spot, another trailer hit an Audi car that was parking behind and instantly killed a male passenger who occupied the front seat with the driver of the Audi, bringing the number of deaths to five at the time of filling this report.
