Cross River State House of Assembly, CRSHA has passed its thirteenth and fourteenth bills into law since the commencement of the 8th Assembly.
The 13th Bill is to enact a Law to provide for equal opportunities for all persons with special emphasis on people with disabilities, elderly people, sick and feeble.
The bill was passed into Law after considering the report of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Welfare led by Hon. Elizabeth Ironbar.
The Bill is part of the Sustainable Development Goals Strategy, SDGS compliance framework and was sponsored by Hon. Regina Anyogo representing Yala 1 State Constituency.
While the 14th Bill is to domesticate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Program SDGS, making the House the first Legislature in the country to domesticate the post 2015 SDGS Goals.
This followed the consideration of the House Committee Chair report on International Development Cooperation seeking the House approval of the report and the passage of the Bill into Law.
The bills will now be transmitted to the governor for assent when he returns from his over sea journey.
