The branch of Zenith bank Plc operating in Obudu was gutted by fire in the early hours of Saturday, October 31, 2015 CrossRiverWatch can authoritatively report.

The fire which is said to have burnt staff valuables in the financial institution comes less than a year after the same bank suffered a deadly robbery incident which left several wounded.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the fire started at about 9:10 a.m. with the cause still unknown as at the time of filing this report.

Efforts by commercial motorcyclists and students who attempted putting out the fire were unsuccessful for hours as a thick black smoke continuously prevented them before the fire was eventually put out.

Located inside the Federal College of Education Obudu, the bank many say is yet to fully recover from the deadly robbery attack it suffered which according to them is evident on the fact that the bank is yet to fix its Automated Teller Machine, ATM after it was lost to the same incident.
