As part of oversight engagement of the House of Assembly, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. John Gaul Lebo has embarked on inspection visit on project sites in Calabar Metropolis.
At the Esuk Utan Industrial Area, the Speaker inspected the proposed site for jetty and tank farms which the he submitted would help boost the economy of the state when completed.
He reiterated that the Calabar portside area which hosts a beehive of commercial activities would be properly regulated and managed to accrue more benefits to the state, stressing that the revenue of Cross River would receive major boost as soon as the various investments were established or completed.
Hon. Lebo who also visited proposed site for petro-chemical Company at the state housing estate, expressed excitement at the prospects of the company and its capacity to provide jobs for teeming unemployed youths in the state.
Speaking at one of the sites, prospective investor and Chairman of Index group of companies, Hon. Ezeani Nnamdi intimated of his plans to establish a petro-chemical company capable of creating employment for hundreds of youths in the state.
In the Speaker’s entourage on the visit was the Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade, Hon. Martin Orim among others.
