The Cross River state government Special Envoy to the African Development Bank (AfDB) Emmanuel Ibeshi, has met with several board members and executives of the financial institution to discuss its interventions and planned programs in the state.
Ibeshi in separate meetings with the bank’s top guns in Nigeria and its headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast discussed the ongoing and planned intervention programs in the state as well as canvassed for partnerships to support Governor Ben Ayade’s projects.
In Abuja, Nigeria, Ibeshi met with the Country Director AfDB, Ousmane Dore, AfDB Country Program Officer Andoh Mensah and AfDB Regional Consultant, Ifenyinwa Emelife.
In Abidjan, Ibeshi met with AfDB’s Conseller/Chief de Chancellerie (Head of Chancery) Yusha’u Mohammed, AfDB board member representing Nigeria/Sao Tome and Principe Bright Okogu and several others.
Though his appointment has come under criticism from some quarters, with lawyer and activist, Okoi Obono-Obla questioning the legal authenticity of the appointment, a government house source simply told CrossRiverWatch that, “Ibeshi has since started work and is always on the road when necessary.”
