Veteran Journalist, Unimke Nawa, Heads ACROJ Election Committee As Search For New Chairman Begins

Following deliberations from an enlarged meeting of the Association of Cross River Online Journalists (ACROJ), held at the organization’s secretariat in Calabar, it has been unanimously agreed to kick start the process of getting a new chairman and other executive members to run the affairs of the organization.

It will be recalled that ACROJ which is a mother body of all online platforms operating in Cross River state was formed two years ago and a pro tem leadership was put in place to oversee the affairs of the organization.

Over the past two years, the incumbent leadership, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Iwara Iwara, Publisher of www.calitown.com has recorded remarkable achievements in promoting the growth of the organization, some of which include the drafting of a constitution to guide the affairs of the association and give it a legal backing, registration with the corporate affairs commission, Abuja, as well as courtesy visits to key personalities in the state.

Rising from the meeting yesterday, the group constituted an electoral committee to guide the process for electing the new Exco of ACROJ.

The Electoral Committee, ELECO will be headed by veteran journalist and Publisher of www.paradiseeagle.com, Mr. Unimke Nawa and will have Mr. Obaji Akpet of www.CrossRiverEyes.Com and Christiana Alawa of www.CrossRiverWatch.Com as members.

The election of the new Executive is scheduled for the last Thursday of May, 2016.
