The General Hospital Obudu will be commissioned Saturday, May 14, 2016 CrossRiverWatch can authoritatively report.
The hospital, one of the 2 privatized by the administration of Senator Liyel Imoke as reported by CrossRiverWatch was set for commissioning following an overhaul of the structure by the private investors almost a decade after it was burnt.
Reliable sources informed CrossRiverWatch that the Health Commissioner will lead a team from the Ministry for the inspection and subsequent commissioning of the hospital early Saturday morning before attending the matrimonial ceremony of the Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade, Mr. Martins Orim.
The source said the Commissioner had called the current Head of Administration of the hospital, Dr. Evelyn Ikpi, Wednesday, informing her of their coming to Obudu for the final inspection of facilities and commissioning of the medical facility.
The hospital located along the Indi-Abeb axis of Ogoja road is expected to deliver quality healthcare services and has as its operators, St. Luke’s General Hospital Consortium.
Evelyn told CrossRiverWatch in an interview in March that almost all facilities and equipment are in place and ready for the inspection and subsequent issuance of operating license by the state government to operate with the hospital set to directly employ up to 30 personnel in the first phase of recruitment.
The event is billed for 8:00 AM.
