The Cross River State Police Command has paraded 25 suspects arrested for offences ranging from rape to attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and fake currencies as well as assault on police officers, armed robbery among others.
The suspects were arrested at different locations in the past two weeks, Police Commissioner, CP Hafiz Inuwa told newsmen at the command headquarters in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The Police also recovered over 200 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, eight live cartridges, five AK-47 rifles, four locally made pistols and one locally single barrel gun.
Also, the sum of NGN380,000 cash, one battle axe and a Mercedes Benz truck loaded with suspected stolen wheat formed part of the items recovered in the period under review said CP Inuwa.
The CP commended the public for providing information on suspects’ hideouts and pledged continuous support of the force to root out criminals in the state.
