The Cross River State Government has announced its plans to partner a Spanish firm, Index financier UK limited for the development of a scrap yard in Akpabuyo local government area of the state.
The Director General of the state’s scrap regulatory agency, Mr. Cecil Ita disclosed this while speaking on issues relating to the scrap industries on a weekly radio program, ‘The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo’ which airs every Sunday on Hit 95.9FM.
He said the state was in the process of signing another Memorandum of Understanding with the firm while visible construction work will be seen in three months.
Also, Mr. Ita argued that his agency was created to aid in job creation and not “political settlement” as alleged by a caller on the program which was monitored by CrossRiverWatch.
