As Nigerians gear towards the forthcoming 2019 General Election, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Presidential candidate for the All Progressives Peoples’ Congress (APC), Mr. Muhammadu Buhari has called on all Cross Riverians to support all APC candidates in the 2019 elections.
President Buhari requested for unreserved support today as the APC Presidential Campaign train birthed in Calabar, the U.J Esuene Stadium.
Mr. Muhammadu appreciated to the South-South Vice Chairman, Ntufam Hilliard Eta saying “I want to appreciate Ntufam Hilliard Eta for that background report concerning the achievement of the party in the last three and a half years. I feel very confident that APC will win all the elections in Cross River State.
“I assure you that the promise we made in 2015, we made substantial progress in security, economy and in fighting corruption. The people of North-East; Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba know the best we have done in the area of Security.” He said.
In area of Economy, the President said, “Nigerians are lucky because we have a Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development working assiduously to make sure that every local government has mechanised farming system, which will in turn create massive employment opportunities in those areas.”
The Armed Forces Grand Commandant further expressed his gratitude to Cross River people while promising that Nigeria and indeed Cross River will benefit from the programs of the APC administration if re-elected into office come February 16th, 2019.
Likewise, the APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomole also urged all Cross Riverians both at home and in diaspora to support the candidacy of Senator John Owan Enoh and his Deputy, Ntufam Ekpo Okon, as well as other Candidates of the party from the state, boasting that “APC is the only party that can make the State work again.”
He also expressed anger over the lingering Bakassi issues which he blamed the PDP led administration under the leadership of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the loss.
While expressing his gratitude, the APC gubernatorial flag bearer, Senator John Owan-Enoh assured President Buhari of huge victory from Cross River, stating that APC has indeed come to stay in the State.
“Let me use this opportunity to assure you Mr. President that Cross River will give you huge victory. The broom revolution that started in 2015, has indeed come to stay in Cross River. Our pain for today will be made visible in the February 16th General Election, and come 2nd of March, 2016, we are going to elect an APC administration in Cross River.” He added.
Meanwhile, the South South Vice Chairman, Hilliard Eta, the recently defected PDP to APC Former National Financial Secretary, Bolaji Anani as well as other party statesmen lend their voices to assure Mr. Buhari and indeed the APC administration of victory both in the State and the Nation at large.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of flags to the Gubernatorial and Senatorial aspirants of APC in the State.
Meanwhile Mr. President was in company of the National Party Chairman, Comrades Adams Oshiomole, the Director General of APC campaign Organisation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and a host of other dignitaries.
