The Federal Government has filed criminal charges against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Justice Onnoghen is being accused of failing to declare his assets and operating a domiciliary account, among other charges.
Channels Television quotes a statement by the spokesperson of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Ibrahim Alhassan, saying that the charges were served on the CJN yesterday Friday.
The statement, according to Channels TV, explained that the charges are based on a petition by the Code of Conduct Bureau seeking the commencement of trial against him.
According to the CCT spokesperson, Justice Onnoghen will be arraigned on Monday, January 14.
Justice Onnoghen is from Biase local government in Cross River state.
