Our Assembly Members Are Deaf And Dumb, Things Will Change After 2019 Election – Awade Friday, SDP Obanliku Candidate

By Obeten Godfrey

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the Obanliku State Constituency of Cross River State in the February, 2019 general elections, Mr. Awade Friday (Last Prophet) has said that the Cross River State House of Assembly will no longer be a quiet place after the 2019 elections.

Awade made the assertion at the ‘I Pledge To Vote’ concert organised by Civic Tech Startup (CrowdPol), which held at the Mellinium Park, Calabar.

According to him: “It’s like our representatives in the House of Assembly are deaf and dumb. After the 2019 elections, there will be no quietness in that house. There will be debate in that house, there will be disagreement in that house. Peace will not reign in that house again.

“It took me eighteen good years to have my voters card. This card is the most important and most valuable card right now in Nigeria. Eighteen good years is not easy. So if you are from Obanliku you know the right thing to do. If you know you know,” Last Prophet said.

He continued: “If they give you two thousand naira to vote, you are worth two naira thirty six kobo (2.36 kobo) for the four years. Vote wisely, vote your conscience, vote for who you know from the presidency to your constituency.”

He however enjoined youths from across Nigeria to take the ‘I Pledge To Vote’ message to the streets as a way of advancing the Nigerian socio-political space; and advised them to vote wisely in the forthcoming elections as bad leaders are elected by good citizens who don’t vote.
