By Efa Sunday, Government House Correspondent

Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has today officially dissolved the 2015-2019 Executive members of his cabinet, saying that he is set to take up the role of a “Project Manager”, supervising the completion of all projects ongoing in the State.

Bearing his mind at the event today which took place at the Exco Chambers, Governors Office, in Calabar the Governor stated that his decision to downsize his cabinet is to ensure focus and effectiveness for his next four years in office.

Apologising to all members who may not return, Governor Ayade said “I mean no harm.”

Acknowledging the efforts of the Commissioners towards his re-election in the just concluded election, he however said that some appointees would be “sent to farms, school, fashion industry, and so on, and their offices moved away from Calabar in order to decongest the city and bring development to other parts of the State.”

He also called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to show concern in the ongoing signature projects in the state, even as he called on all Cross Riverians to work harmoniously with him in his second term to ensure better governance.

The event also has in attendance Deputy Governor Ivara Esu, Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Tina Agbor-Banku, Chief Judge of Cross River State, Barr. Michael Edem, Speaker of State House of Assembly, Hon. John Gaul Lebo, all the Commissioners, Head of Service and other top Government functionaries.

Highpoint of the event was a toast and cutting of cake.
