One of the major achievements of a Senator representing a particular people in the National Assembly especially in Nigeria is, sponsoring good bills that will be beneficial to it’s constituency.
Cross River State, one of the six States that make up the South-South Zone of Nigeria, has three Senatorial District, namely: Southern Senatorial district with Sen. Gershom Henry Bassey as the Senator; the Central Senatorial District with Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor as the Senator and late Sen. Rose Okoji Oko who represented the Northern Senatorial District, all in the 9th National Assembly.
Bills tally of these Senators in the past one year in the red Chambers leaves a dimmable question on how good or how bad they have performed between June 2019 to May 2020.
Bills sponsored by Cross River Senators within a period of one year in the hallow Chambers is thus:
Sen. Gershom Henry Bassey, Cross River – South with ten (10) bills; late Sen. Rose Okoji Oko, Cross River – North has eight (8) bills and Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor, Cross River – Central with two (2) bills.
This brings a total of twenty (20) bills sponsored by Cross River three Senators according to data obtained from record of the National Assembly.
