Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has cut short the four year tenure of the Chairman, Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Akin Ricketts.
Mr. Ricketts, a former Commissioner of Information in Cross River State was appointed on March 10, 2020 alongside Muhammed Koko, Prof. Idris Abdulkadir and Onari Brown as Executive Directors.
Also, Mr. Ghazali Muhammed, Sen. John Akpanuoedehe, Sen. Binta Masi Garba, Alh. Mustapha Dutse and Abdulwahab Adeshina were also appointed members of the board of the NPA then.
The removal comes after the President approved the reconstitution of the Non-Executive Board of the NPA, with Mr Emmanuel Olajide Adesoye (from South-west zone) whom Mr. Ricketts had replaced as the new Chairman
Other members of the Board are; Prince Ekenyem Nwafor-Orizu (South-East zone), Akinwunmi Ricketts (South-South zone), Ghazali Mohammed Mijinyawa (North-East zone), Mustapha Amin Dutse (North-West zone), and Abdulwahab Adesina (North-Central zone).
