Men of the Special Investigation Bureau and Special Protective Unit of the Nigerian Police Force attached to Government House Calabar on Tuesday harassed over a dozen Magistrates protesting over 26 months of unpaid salaries.
The salary saga is one of the many challenges that plagued the Cross River Judiciary which many fingered the Governor, Ben Ayade as the architect.
And, the Magistrates, after months of letter writing, meetings and promises, decided to take to the streets this January.
Following assurances, the protests were suspended.
