Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has relieved four commissioners of their appointments after they refused to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with him.

They are Messrs Mike Usibe, Rita Ayim, Asu Okang and Donatus Etim.

The quartet had allegedly resigned their appointments after Mr. Ayade was railroaded into joining the APC 11 days ago. They remain members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with Mrs Ayim appointed into the caretaker committee.

The approval for the relieve of their appointments was contained in a statement issued by Mr. Ayade’s chief spokesman, Christian Ita on Monday morning.

Also relieved of their appointments were Messrs Leo Inyambe, Orok Otu Duke, Victor Okon (Alausa), John Etim Bassey and Agbiji Mbeh Agbiji.
