BRCI Write Police To Investigate Doctor’s Defilement Of 15-Year Old Client In Calabar

Dr. Idem Etuk Samuel, the Chief Executive Officer of Mount Zion Medical Center in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, has been accused of defiling a 15-year-old teenager in his clinic.

The Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, in a letter dated November 9, 2021 and addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, says the incident began on October 22, 2021 when the teenager visited the medical center for a medical checkup.

She was “led her into his (Dr. Samuel) consulting room< ' the letter read. Dr. Samuel, “instructed her to totally undress, but when she hesitated, he insisted and said that all doctors who examine or check a patient with difficulty in breathing require the patient(s) to fully undress for proper examination.”

In the letter signed by the Principal Counsel, James Ibor Esq. BRCI said Dr. Samuel placed a stethoscope on her chest and after a few minutes dropped it and “leaned his weight on her.”

Dr. Samuel allegedly groped her “breasts while moaning,” and the assault continued, “through the three days she was on admission in the hospital.”
