The Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony Elumelu are among dignitaries in the line-up of activities for the one-year memorial of Mrs Amaka Ndoma-Egba, wife of the leader of the seventh senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba.
Mrs. Ndoma-Egba died in a motor accident on the Ore — Okitipupa Road in Ondo State on Thursday, November 19, 2020, three and a half years after Pope Francis I re-solemnized their marriage.
And, for the one-year memorial, the former Chairman of the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission took said the Catholic Bishop of Ogoja Diocese will celebrate a memorial mass in her honor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Akparabong, Ikom. A Chapel built in her honor will also be dedicated by the Bishop.
Days later on December 11, 2021, another memorial mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Asokoro by His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja to mark the first anniversary of her burial.
Mrs. Ndoma-Egba founded Start-Rite schools, Abuja. And, the former lawmaker says an annual memorial lecture will be held in her honor as well as the unveiling of the Victor and Amaka Ndoma-Egba foundation.

ONE YEAR MEMORIAL ACTIVITIES OF LATE MRS. AMAKA LAURETTA NDOMA-EGBA
“The Catholic Bishop of Ogoja, Most. Revd. Dr. Donatus Edet Akpan will on Friday 19th November 2021 celebrate a memorial mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Akparabong, Ikom, Cross River State at 11am in memory of Mrs. Amaka Lauretta Ndoma-Egba, my dear wife and founder of Start-Rite Schools, Abuja who died in a motor accident on the Ore-Okitipupa Road in Ondo State on Thursday 19th Nov 2020. His Lordship will also dedicate the St. Lauretta’s Chapel of Adoration built by me in her remembrance, within the church’s premises.
“On the 11 of December 2021 being the first anniversary of her burial, a memorial mass will be celebrated at the Church of The Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja by His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja who will be assisted by the Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja, Most Revd. Dr. Anselm Umoren at 12noon.
“There will be the maiden Amaka Ndoma-Egba Memorial Lecture on “LEADERSHIP, LEGACY, AND CHANGE” same day by 4:30pm at Start-Rite Schools, Abuja to be delivered by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation. This event will be chaired by Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings. This will be followed by the unveiling of the Victor and Amaka Ndoma-Egba Foundation. The evening will also feature readings by Dike Chukwumerije.”
