Prof. Zana Akpagu, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, has disassociated himself from the magnanimous act by some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River who purchased their party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for Hon. Martins Orim, Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade to represent them in the Senate.
Hon. Legor Idagbo, member representing Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku constituency and Hon. Jude Ngaji, a member presenting Ogoja/Yala constituency also benefited from the goodwill.
Prof. Akpagu in a message to CrossRiverWatch termed it “fake news”.
The Obudu-born who also contested for that ticket in 2019: “I vehemently debunk the fake news of my support for Martin Orim for Cross River North Senate.”
