Pa Francis Ingwubel Akpo, the father of Dr. Linda Ayade, wife of the immediate past Governor of Cross River State, Senator Benedict Ayade has died aged 83.
Pa Akpo, a retired teacher and administrator passed on in the late hours of Good Friday, March 29, 2024 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
News of his death has filtered in on Holy Saturday but with no statement from his family, CrossRiverWatch could not report on it.
However, family sources confirmed his death to CrossRiverWatch on Easter Sunday.
“He has been facing health challenges recently. His wife has been by his side too,” the source said, and explained that may have been the reason he missed his granddaughters’ graduation ceremony in the United Kingdom days before his passing.
The family is currently in grief despite the fact that the football club named in honor of the late Pa Akpo and his wife, MFAF FC won the Cross River State Federation cup in a penalty shootout on Saturday at the U.J Esuene Stadium in C
