Appointment: Governor Otu Replaces Elected LG Chairman, Vice As SEMA Bosses

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu has approved the appointment of Mr. Antigha Edem Gill, as the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The appointment was contained in a press release signed by Nsa Gill, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor dated 7th November, 2024.

Antigha Edem is to replace Apostle James Anam, the newly elected Chairman of Calabar Municipality while also appointed to the SEMA Directorate is Ako Nsa Ekpenyong as Director.

Ako is replacing the former Director of the Agency, Christina Eso, who is now the elected Vice Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area.

Governor Otu enjoins the appointees to ensure efficiency in the discharge of their duties.

The release reads: “His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Antigha Edem Gill as the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). He replaces Apostle James Anam, who is now the elected mayor of Calabar Municipality.

“Also appointed to the SEMA Directorate is Ako Nsa Ekpenyong as Director. Ako is also replacing a former Director of the agency, Christina Eso, who was recently elected as the Vice Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Council.

“The Governor urged the new DG of SEMA and other Directors in the Agency to ensure efficiency and timeliness in the discharge of their duties.”
