In enhancing transparency and accountability, Commissioners in Cross River State have been instructed to submit detailed reports outlining the achievements and progress of their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
This is contained in a directive from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government which mandates them to do so in a few weeks.
According to the directive, the initiative is designed to facilitate a comprehensive appraisal of the collective performance of the state government. The government believes the assessment is crucial to ensuring the administration remains aligned with the promises made to the citizens.
The reports are expected to cover various metrics of success and highlight both accomplishments and challenges faced by the MDAs.
It also states that the step reflects the government’s dedication to maintaining accountability while fostering a culture of transparency in public service.
With date line in view, the state government is said to anticipate the evaluations will not only showcase achievements but also inform future strategies, ultimately enhancing service delivery.
