AIG Bala, who served as the Review Officer at the parade and represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, said their deployment will “help address the longstanding manpower deficit” in the force.

It continued; “The recruits were trained in professional, legal and liberal studies to enable them to carry out law enforcement, crime prevention/detection and preservation of law and order in the country. They are to be posted to their local government areas of origin. This strategic development aim is to augment ongoing law enforcement efforts and reinforce the fight against crime at the grassroots level.”

The AIG added that the IGP is using the passing-out parade, which took place simultaneously in four premier colleges and twelve training schools across the country, to “assure Nigerians of adequate security as they go about their lawful engagements.”

Eight outstanding students were presented with awards at the parade which drew service commanders, friends, families, and well-wishers from the four states where the recruits hail from – Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers.
